The Most Wonderful Time of Year

30 Dec

I love Christmas. I truly do. And now, with Adam, I love it even more. This year we started a tradition with Adam that I grew up with. Here is the scrapbook page I made to remember the night.

The writing on the page reads as follows:

This year, for the first time, we experienced the Christmas Eve Tradition that I was brought up with…

At around sunset, after listening for sleigh bells all night, we finally heard the bells ringing outside. We quickly ran outside to see if we could see Father Christmas flying over the house. We could hear the bells, so it meant that he was close. This year we ran out front first, but that turned out to be a mistake, the Sleigh must have flown over the back garden. When we heard the bells coming from over the wall, we ran back inside to look for Father Christmas. Unfortunately, we were just too late to see him. But luckily he had thown some presents into the garden as he flew over the house. There were presents all over the garden. The sheer joy, happiness, excitement and delight as you rushed around the garden to collect your stash was pure magic to watch.

The chant from the last few days… “open, open, OPEN!!!”

All the chanting done by this little elf.

Chanting was done for all of these…

That were under this tree…

They were opened by “Santa’s-little-helper” (while doing a disco dance)…

With white knuckled concentration…

until we were all Christmassed out… (passed out with half the trains from Sodor)…

Fa la la la la, la la la laaaaaaaaa

A few days late, but that’s my general style!

Happy Christmas to all of you out there. I hope your day was full of joy, love, peace and happiness. As well as a good dose of childlike wonder, magic and laughter.

My blog gift to you – a rare photo of yours truly and the adam-apple of my eye. For once, I wasn’t behind the camera. A one-time wonder. Or not. We’ll see.

I have a whole stack of Christmas Photos that I have to wade through. I will post some Christmas-in-review photos soon.
